Nailed It! New Tires for Gazelle

Time for new tires. I have about 6K miles on the stock tires and yesterday I got a nail so why not now?

Most of the miles are on the road commuting but on weekends I like to ride rail trails. Mostly hardpack or maybe "gravel" but nothing technical. The stock Schwalbes were fine except the round profile meant any small stone would kick the wheel a little left or right. I think I want a little flatter profile.

Question 1:
I am think about these. Any other suggestions?

Yes, to your second question.

I use Tannus Armor. I like them. They do make the ride more cushy. Be sure to get smaller tubes, as recommended on their site. I commute on unkept road and I’ve only got one flat. It was a 2” cotter pin. I think it would’ve punctured any tire, to be honest. About an inch and a half got lodged into my tire. That was the only flat in about 3 years. I ride when the weather is good and about 8 miles a day. So, not a lot of riding compared to others here.

Thanks. Tannus is what I remembered and couldn't think of today. And this bike is over 3 years now and the first flat. Outside of adjusting the belt after I got the bike I haven't done any maintenance on it which was a shocker with the gear hub and a different front axle than I was used to.

My commuter came with Tannus inserts, but I'll be trying Mr. Tuffy next based on a number of posts here 1-2 yrs ago. Sorry, don't recall all the pros and cons, just the decision. The forum search function should help.

The G one Overland looks like a pretty good choice - but you want the newer PRO variant not the older SuperGround version. The newer compound should roll a little better

There are also TPU, as opposed to rubber, inner tubes. You might want to check in to those as well.
