Hi. I'm 66, disabled, and found ebiking about 6 years ago. I bought a Wave - one of the 1st ones - to see if I enjoyed it. When it broke down it would have cost as much to repair as I paid, so I looked for a different option. Wanting a bike with a local dealer/repair option I bought a Pedego Boomerang. It was nice enough, but they hadn't bothered to fit it to me, and the reach was too long, which created additional neck/back pain. The bike was also back-end heavy and the front tire was hard to control going down the steep coastal hills where I live. I found from one of their repair people that they knew about this problem and just blue-skied it, which irritated me. So I went to the owner and after a lot of bickering, I got a steep discount on a bike comprised of 3 models - the frame from a city commuter, the battery from the boomerang, and the components from the City Commuter Black, their upgraded model. The adjustable stem let me dial in the reach and I was off to the races.
It's a very nice ride. Powerful enough, stable enough, great brakes. Pedego is a decent brand, but I don't support their selling practices. They flatly refuse to fit bikes to purchasers, which I find dishonest. When this one eventually needs to be replaced, the Dost Drop looks like the best option for me currently, but that's well off into the future.
I'm a retired physician, and I've told every patient I can find to consider moving to ebiking. There's an option for everyone, and the health benefits - especially with a throttle, for those who are in pain or not yet able to ride very much - are tremendous.
Good riding to you all!
