I recently attached a Timber Bell to the Trance’s bar and it appears to work quite well at providing plenty of advance notice to walkers and slower cyclists. I’ve received quite a few thumbs ups for its clear ring from those who I’ve passed along the trails.

My Knog Oi Luxe is very pleasant sounding - not as harsh as a normal bell but unfortunately it sounds like an iPhone message alert.
But with the amount of people with earbuds and headphones on, it's kind of a waste.

Heck, on dry pavement and to some degree on hard packed snow or ice, if you can't hear me coming on my Ice Spikers, then no normal bell is going to do anything.
But I like the concept of the Timber none the less.

I have a knock off Spur Cycle on the Trek and once approached an elderly jogger on the pathway from behind. I dinged my bell several times only to see him reach into the back pocket of his shorts to pull out his cell phone. He obviously thought someone was calling or texting him. 🤣

Nothing against fancy bells but two Knog Oi of mine have already broken... Bought traditional bells instead: people don't hear bells anyway :)

I have a little bell on my Sport that I use once in awhile passing other bikes or pedestrians. Just curious if a couple of little rings and a fairly loud "on your left" is ok as far as ebiker etiquette?
