Change the language to English. Go to the top menu for Engines & Statistics (Motoren & Statistiken) and select mid-drive or hub motors. Voluntary registration so the sample size is small, and it's predominantly European so the engines will be less powerful/less stressed than North America, but I haven't seen anything else like this.

The idea:
  • show the mileage and failure time of different mid and hub motor systems
  • make it compareable
  • give possibilities to interpret the data focussed on reliability
  • have 50 to 100 members for each system
  • show real customer usage
  • collect failure types, problems, solutions

I was also having the same problem understanding the charts BUT, when I studied the charts carefully, it is evident what is happening. Need to look up the heading, the motor in question, and then the users and their still working or failure estimate will be more clear.

Nevertheless, there ought to be a section where you can put a different OEM/Non brand manufacturer, type of motor setup: Planetary/geared or direct etc....and put the distance travelled so far.

I cannot believe that the Bafang Middrive 2 has gone so far as described here. Mine failed around 1600Km. Garbage.

My planetary 1000 Watt hub drive already has 1600 kms in a shorter period of time and is still going strong as the first day.
 
About 1.200.000 kilometers or 790.000 miles are the base for the JULY-statistics.

This month just 7 new motor issues were reported - some Bosch mids and some hub drives.

All motor issues are now summarized in a google table with

  • failure describtion if available

I got a bit help. Now I have a automated database on www.pedelecmonitor.com.

New are user accounts for up to 4 different bikes. The experiences are reduced and shown on just one page. Everybody can add info to mileage and repairs to his own bike.

Subscribed! Beyond impressive, this collected data is a gold mine for ebike motor manufacturers everywhere.

Yamaha PW drive on a 2017 Haibike Full FatSix. 9800 miles. 0 failures of any kind in the e-drive system, save for one loose spoke sensor magnet.
