Bought my BBSHD on DHGate.com. DH Gate does not release the funds to the store until you are completely satisfied. My box was damaged and opened a dispute. It was solved quickly and efficiently! Added a Lekkie Chainring instead of the stock one. The bike is awesome. I went with the BBSHD because, well the HD. Buy something to last IMHO. I left all wires the original length incase I wanna switch the set up to another bike down the road. Bought a USB cable and tweaked the software very easily. Has a throttle, but I never use it.

This is the setup for reference.

Interesting... curious as to weight, range, and torque for each of your builds. Csubi, as you can see from avatar, I like that color! I also did not cut my cables... my kit bike is black, which helps hide my cable wraps around the frame. The Clean Republic kit is also really simple and has fewer cables, straight up throttle drive.

Sometimes this winter, when I'd been off the bike for over a week (not often) I think, "I should have traded low weight for more power." (My Trek kit bike is 40 pounds and probably under 40nm, while my Motobecane mid-drive is 46 pounds after mods with 40 nm, both 250 W.)

But I was recently diagnosed bilateral rotator cuff damage-- and I know I couldn't lift a 50 pound bike safely where I ride, because I have to hoist my bike over gates and carry it up small runs of stairs to get to the trails I use.

I also can get my pulse down to the high 50s, which is not bad for the pretty side of 65, so I guess the cardio has been doing me good!

Oh nice. You have a full suspension newer model bike. Not sure what motor you have?? I weigh in at a good 260lb right now. (I still love lifting heavy weights) Anyway my bike is 2005 Specialized Hardrock Pro Disc and I believe it weighs about 30lb without the motor. The power I get is killer. It is rare for me to go any higher than PAS setting of 3. (9 Total settings) I usually ride on setting 1 or 2. I will go to 3 to go up a steep hill, then back down to 1 or 2 again. I went up a very steep dirty trail yesterday at the end of my ride in the mountains. Used setting 9 for sh*ts and giggles. The bike flew... I mean flew up this hill. Was crazy!

Sorry to hear about the rotator. I know and feel your pain. Mine was cleaned of scar tissue while they fixed my bicep tendon a couple years ago. Huge difference. I too had to lift my bike occasionally. Just part of riding in the mountains. Here is a pic of the trail washout.

Hard to tell, buy those bigger boulders 3/4 way up the photo were actually rocks I had to jump between. Was awkward and unpleasant.

This bike is actually one I built my wife. I am using it while I wait for my Watt Wagons Hydra bike. I am very excited for that midlife crisis purchase I made!!!!!!

Well. I have bought the Bafang mid drive from a uk supplier but i know i could get this kit from dhgate or alibaba etc. I was always concerned with things going wrong but thats set my mind at ease if i build another. Thanks @Csubi
Awaiting my small triangle battery and im on it. Cant wait.

We saw some full suspension builds have the chain stay destroyed by a BBSHD. One was a Giant.

Ohhhh. Why is this more particular to full suspension?
It's a moving part and some frames aren't up to the stresses. This cam from the original Lectric Cycles the RAD Bafang mid-drive reseller. Gone now for several years. The general manager ended up with Magnum ebikes for a while. A reliable source IME.
