Maxxis Hookworm 29ers

I own a Magnum Peak 29er and was looking into changing my knobbies this spring to a road tire as I ride 95% of the time in the streets or on asphalt paths...Was looking into the Maxxis Hookworm 29er tire...They seem to get a lot of good reviews although a bit heavy but very puncture proof...Also was thinking about the Schwalbe Marathon Plus ebike tire coming out in the spring of 2020...Any opinions on the hookworm or the Marathon Plus ebike tires??

I have a set. I don’t need the level of protection Schwalbe provides. I don’t like the compound in freezing conditions. But as a summer tire they a quite nice. I’m the odd man out. Thousands of miles, 5 years and never a flat while riding.

I was shown an early catalog that showed that Kenda was coming out with their Kwick road tire in both 27.5 and 29 in all widths from 2-3" in .2" increments. I have run some 2.4" wide samples and they are very much like the Schwalbe Moto Xs but the tread depth is shallower. I have no clue why tire companies will not just add a few mms of rubber to make ebike tires last longer and more puncture proof because a few 100 grams will just improve ebike stability and ebike weight is not the top priority it once was for bikes. I think bean counters at the tire companies don't want tires lasting too long (not exactly customer centric)
