Magura rim brakes are used on some Euro bikes such as Gazelle. Does anybody have these brakes? How do you like them?

Hi Steve
I have been meaning to give you a call.
I have had these brakes on two bikes in the past. Not e bikes. They work very well but.... The rims did not last long. I was riding in any winter weather and very quickly the rims had deep grooves and started cracking out in chunks. I then changed both bikes to disks.

That is very good input John thanks!

I have Magura ebike hydraulic brakes on my Pedego RidgeRider. Mine has great stopping power, but I've found that the rear caliper is a bit of a pain to bleed properly. The front caliper was easy, but no so with the rear.
Could be just me, though.

I looked at ebikes with these brakes when we were shopping early last year. Their recommended pads were quite expensive. It seemed to me that these were a transition system between classic mechanical rim brakes and disc brakes. Now that disc brake systems have matured, it doesn't seem like the hydraulic rim brakes are necessary. We went with bikes that have hydraulic disc brakes. Great stopping power and affordable replacement pads.
