Low BB (bashed skid plate, crushed wires)

The skid plate case of my Trance toiok a big hit this morning and I got an error from the computer. I limped back home and opened it up and found some crushed wires (going to the chainstay and into where the rotor is which I would assume is the speed sensor). Anyway, I mended it up and now the bike is good.

Just wondering if anyone's had issues with this, if there is an alternate skid plate I could buy (my buddy with the Decoy has an aftermarket one) or if this is a common occurence or just sloppy riding on my part. LOL

Would it be possible to just insulate the wires from getting crushed again via some protection under the stock plate?

I believe there's a high point on the motor mold that pinched the wires against the plate. I routed everything so the wires aren't in the same place again... in fact, all the wires are tucked away now. I even added padding on the repaired plate so 1) things don't move and 2) hopefully quiets this bike down.

My extra 625 Wh battery has no skid plate, as the Giant dealer has not been capable to get if for last six months. My brother who helps me with e-bikes has attached a thick layer of strong foam to the bottom of the battery with some glue. Additionally, I wrap the bottom tube (including the battery) with a large Fahrer-Berlin neoprene cover. That's better than the skid plate!
