Loud clicking noise from Enviolo (2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH)

Hey all,

I've had my 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH for about 2.5 years. Six months ago or so, I noticed a loud clicking noise that seemed to come from the back wheel area. It occurred while biking up a steep hill just a minute or so after starting up the bike (coming out of an underground parking garage). The noise only happened for about 5 seconds, and I didn't notice it for a long time after that, so I didn't really pay any attention to it.

However, it's happened a handful of times since then, and seems to be getting more frequent. (Unfortunately I don't have good data on it, since it's so infrequent, and of such short duration.) Today I seemed to notice it may be comign from the Enviolo hub.

Has anyone had a similar experience, or know what might be causing it?

Which version of the hub is it exactly? My first impression (I would need to hear the noise to be sure) would be that the freehub needs attention https://support.enviolo.com/hc/nl/a...ean-the-freewheel-on-a-hub#video-instructions

If you ride along with a freehub which does not catch the hubshel teeth it could end up in replacing the entire hub because the aluminium of the hubshel will be eaten away byt the freehub teeth.

Thanks! This is the Enviolo Automaitq hub... beyond that, how can I tell what hub it is? The Eviolo app indicates product AHI 3.0, part number 6782-2100-0200, and hub model SP. The app also reports "no error" for the error status.

This only happens very sporadically - perhaps 5-10 times in total (though it seems to be of increasing frequency).

Ok, an automatic Sports hub, forget the automatic part. In most cases it would be the freehub part. It could also be the belt skipping or the sprocket on the freehub. When was the belt tension measured for the last time? Does the belt show signs of wear (belt no longer has even curved "teeth" but more pointy and loose hanging threads)? And can you check if the sprecket on the rear hub has excessive play?

Might be wise to see if you could let your bike checked at the LBS for tension (I do not think you have a belt tension measuring tool at hand?) so they can check the belt, sprocket and freehub. 2.5 years would also be a logically point in time for a service checkup on the bike (dont know when the last service has been and what the milages would be)

Ik heb met 3500 km ook een tikje gehoort waar ik in eerste instantie weinig aandacht aan bestede. De tik was er op een moment constant. Ben naar mijn dealer gegaan die oordeelde dat dit niet goed was, hij heeft contact opgenomen met de leverancier van de de hub die oordeelde om het complete achter wiel op te sturen voor onderzoek en garantie.
Ik heb mijn wiel terug met een nieuwe hub. Let op dat je hier in Nederland een compleet wiel krijgt als klant.
Op dit moment 1000 km gefietst en geruisloosheid tijdens het fietsen.
Dus ik hoop dat ik je heb geattendeerd op mogelijk schade .

I took my bike in to fix a broken spoke last week, and I mentioned the noise I infrequently heard, and the mechanic said that they've seen a lot of problems with these hubs. He said they've replaced about 10 of them, some under warranty, some not. The mechanic did say that on the test ride, the hub on my bike sounded good. (and it's only been infrequently that I've heard a ticking noise.) My bike currently has about 5600 km so fingers are crossed.

ik ben vergeten te vermelden dat ik geen automatische hub had en altijd voor het stoppen bij een stoplichten lichter schakel zodat je bij het rijden minder belasting heb.

Nonlinear, might it have been a loose spoke(s)? And/or maybe it was the spoke that broke?

I’ve gotten ticking when a spoke loosens up. Don’t know if that’s what you might’ve been hearing. Good luck!

Nee niet het geval bij mij zat het in de hub want men heeft bij mijn dealer gecontroleerd dat de spaken 100 % waren en niet het tikken veroorzaakte.
Ik heb geen informatie gekregen wat de oorzaak was ik vond het goede garantie,
