Looking for places to ride Pierce County WA

Ideally in the Bonney Lake, Buckley, Orting, Sumner area.... Would like long rides but not all pavement.

Thanks in advance, I imagine this is a long shot

The Foothills trail (https://www.piercecountywa.org/1384/Foothills-Trail) snakes from Buckley (and sort of to Enumclaw with short sections on the 410) to just south of Sumner.

You can pull up the "bicycling" option on Google Maps and it will show bike trails, dedicated bike lanes, and bicycle-friendly roads as an overlay. Highly recommended.

You are not that far from the Palouse-to-Cascades rail trail, the Yelm-Tenino Trail, and the Chehalis and Western Trail as well.

Also check out the All Trails and Trail Link apps - lots of trails, maps, descriptions and ratings!

I rode the Yelm-Tenino trail today, and a portion of the Chehalis Western as well. Yelm-Tenino was “meh”….worth riding once. I enjoyed the Chehalis Western much more, though I only rode a roughly 10 mile section. That piece was very rural and quiet. There are some roads to cross, but almost no traffic. Some small dairy or cattle farms (I didn’t get close enough to identify gender), a stream or two, and it’s largely forested. I managed to ride a total of 49 miles today (a new personal best), out and back, and am looking forward to seeing the rest of the trail soon. My photos don’t compare to some I’ve seen on here (definitely due to my lack of photography skills), but I’ll attach a couple, and promise to improve;

Nothing too special here, but my daughter is a horse nut (she has worked full-time as a horse trainer for almost 20 years, operates a 30(?)-stall barn, and teaches English jumper lessons ), so thinking of her I just had to take a picture of this private barn. Or maybe it was because the homeowner gave me a friendly greeting as I rode by. 😊
