It sounds like you just arrived in 2024 after stepping out of a time machine. The TQ motor has been around forever, but is used largely by no one in 2024. Their height of visibility in the marketplace came when Haibike started using them like 4 years ago. Since then, they dropped them and went to Bosch and Yamaha motors. Plus the HPR120S was superseded by the HPR50. And the TQ motors in any event are not meant for DIY builds. If you're looking for a more powerful mid-drive kit with a torque sensor, you might want to consider the TQ HPR120S, which offers significantly higher torque and a more refined riding experience. It’s worth noting that while it’s pricier than the BBSHD, the improved performance and torque sensor could match your needs for a reliable upgrade. Also, look into the CYC X1 Pro Gen 2, which is known for its high power output and adaptability for various setups, while still being a solid choice for off-road and everyday use. Both options can handle the extra demand you're looking for in terms of power and functionality.

As for the Cyc motors... the X1 Gen 2 ... Jesus that one was awful. I can say that after owning an X1 (I still have it). The Gen2 abandoned the Gen1 Cyc controller which never worked right, and substituted an ASI controller that itself had so many problems they eventually decided they were unfixable. Cyc dropped the Gen2 for the Gen3 VESC-based a couple of years ago... and those were better but still had problems. The X1 gen4 which is the current version may in fact finally be a reliable motor (the gen2 had parts issues as well).
