Zombie, that is a bright light! However, I was looking to get away fro having another battery to charge. Mr. Jones, I have never had any issues with sparking when plugging in my headlight. The only way(s) it could spark is if the 2 conductors were somehow shorted. Those plugs are designed to be plugged in "live". I do have a pushbutton switch mounted to my handlebar for lights on and off, and keep it off when I plug in, for whatever that is worth. Again, I have the ability to energize one of the 3 lights, which is mounted in the same place as the original, for general night time riding, focused on the ground about 50' in front of me, as to not blind auto drivers. I only energize the other 2 when on the beach or golf course at night. They could blind an oncomming driver!

Hey Ccount - if you could show me additional pictures or descriptions of how you have hard wired your lights in, I would appreciate it. I ordered the two lights and wiring kit you recommended. The handlebar switch would be cool too. Just like you, I'm looking to have my Rad sort of self-contained...with one battery to charge.
FWIW - I strapped this speaker on my downtube with some strong zip ties. I ran the USB charger to the computer port, so it stays charged all the time. It's plenty loud and works really well!
Nice! I too have a bluetooth speaker, and my controller has a USB port on it, so I power my cell phone (playing Pandora) and my bluetooth speaker from it. My handlebar is quite crowded! Here is the push button switch I ordered. I simply ran the power cable down the vertical seat post member of the frame, into the opening on the bottom of the frame (where all of the other wires go in, then up to the front where all the other wires come out, and then to the switch and the lights. I make my own cables, with soldered connections and heat shrink for protection and reinforcement. I ordered a handlebar extension, on which I mounted the 2 additional lights, and as I said, the third light mounts on the same place the original light did. Here is the switch and handlebar extension I used. I also included the bluetooth speaker for kicks, and the handlebar adjustable stem, which allows almost infinite adjustments of the bars!

I got this light for my Momentum (Giant) Ebike.
My bike already has light switch built into the controller and comes pre-wired for a headlight, but my model didn't came with a headlight. It was a simple task to wire the headlight into the bike, the headlight is very compact, solid aluminum and very bright.

Coolbob, that looks like a nice light! I have never ordered from AliExpress. Are they reliable? How about shipping times? What types of payment do they accept? They certainly have a great variety of stuff. I like Amazon, because I can get it very fast, usually, but am willing to look elsewhere! Thanks!

@Ccount I ordered the headlight only, not the headlight/taillight combo. I have an 'AA' battery powered taillight with a built in reflector that I really like and I turn it on every time I ride. I wanted to keep the headlight on a separate circuit so I could turn it on as needed from the handlebar mounted controller switch.
I had never ordered from AliExpress before, but after searching high and low for a simple, rugged and cheap headlight this looked the best to me. The catch is that the items ship from China and take two to three weeks to arrive. I've ordered several items from them in the past month and so far everything has exceeded my expectations.

For what it's worth, I got a dual-mount handlebar extender (virtually the same thing you have) for ~7$ on Wish (shipping included). These items come from China, and shipping times vary. But I don't think I've ever had to wait more than a couple of weeks (I have purchased a few bike accessories from Wish, and the service, while a bit slow, is reliable so far). One can save a lot of money this way if you have the patience to wait. But as a word of caution, you should always look carefully at the shipping rates -- sometimes they outweigh the low advertised price of the item. But as with my handlebar extender, you can also occasionally find some pretty good bargains.
