Intermittent Error messages if key is left "ON" for days

A long lasting intermittent error message about the controller was eliminated when I started turning the power off at the key between rides. I had been using only the handlebar power on switch and I developed an intermittent error #6 that was eliminated when I turned the key off after using the bike.

Moffetts getting ready to go out? I think that is the error I got when my controller went out.. might want to get an extra one just in case as they seem to be the weak link.

I've had two of the 2.0 ST bikes with key "on" since mid-December. Both seem fine so far, can't imagine how a component within working spec could fail like that. Perhaps an intermittent connector somewhere? Perhaps a faulty key switch?
