If you are referring to RAD, yup, that happens frequently. Part of their success is based on keeping a minimum amount of stock. This would also have a tendency to keep prices up as they will very rarely have to put them on sale due to a bulging warehouse.
They DO go on sale occasionally, but not this time of year. We're coming up on prime time where there will likely be a chronic shortage of the more popular models.
I had to wait several weeks to get my 'City. Even after I had one allotted to me, it took them 2 weeks to ship it! They were REALLY poor communicators regarding the delay. One excuse after another (lies). Worth the wait (and frustration) though. Though there's not a lot of OEM left on it, still very happy with my purchase!

Not to poop in your breakfast cereal, but watch the tracking to see if it actually did ship, or if they just cut the paperwork for it. Once they finally get it to the shipping company, things move along pretty quickly.

You know this because you ran the tracking number and the trucking company is showing it "in transit", or did some tech tell you that to get on to the next customer?

Sorry, that was not my intention at all. You'll have to trust me on that. I was asking as my experience with them regarding this kind of information was not good. I had a RAD tech tell me my bike was "shipped" nearly a week prior to it actually showing an "in transit" status with the shipping company. Prior to that, they (the shipping company) just showed "shipping info received".

Yeah it is crappy they made you wait so long on yours, but it has indeed shipped as it is now in Oregon from Washington. I saw on the tracking number today though that the scan code on the box was unreadable and was replaced so hopefully that is not going to cause any issues. It is coming this Friday if nothing goes wrong but it looks like the weekend might by rainy so that figures lol.

Not to discourage anyone wanting to build their own, but after having done that as well as buying one over the counter, I'd suggest people consider both. I know for a fact there are home built pieces of crap (most actually, in my experience), just as I'm sure there are some available over the counter.
I did research building one but the problem I was having was that the fat tire bikes I would use as the base were either too expensive for just the bike ($1000+) or they were 17'' frames or 18'' frames with low handlebars that would be too small for my height. Also even with the cheaper fat tire bikes it would end up costing me more than just the radrover. So I figure I will just make modifications to the radrover eventually like a larger 21ah battery, new controller + display, and a new motor and it will have everything I want to have.
For what it's worth I went on my longest ride to date yesterday on my RR. It was 25 miles. Some was on bike trails and some on the road. There was some riding into the wind as well as hill climbing in PAS 4&5. As for me I weigh 205. At the end I had three bars showing so a little over 50% battery left. I'm looking forward to longer rides once it manages to warm up to 60 or more.
For the most part I use PAS 2 or 3. I use 4 or 5 on hills. I also hardly ever use the first 2 gears preferring to boost the PAS rather than drop that low so I really could do better on distance if I wanted to but it really looks like I won't need to.
