Interesting,..
It's the first time I had seen the video.

I never would have thought that a magnetic field caused the blast.
My first thought was a crap battery and/or an overcharged/overdischarged battery.

One thing that I noticed is that that battery appears to be the same type of battery that is/was causing all the fires in NYC.

That battery looks a bit like my XP battery! Note to self: NEVER take ebike battery on a elevator!

Seriously, that was terrible. What's weird is I keep my XP battery in a fire "resistant" bag when out of the ebike. I now need to more of these bags for my other ebike batteries.

I think we ALL should remember that these type of batteries are an electrical BOMB, that may go boom at any time. ymmv
