Himiway cruiser

I just purchased a himiway cruiser and at 29.5 miles the speedometer and odometer quit working. Any suggestions and what the fix may be? Something I can do myself?

I think someone's computer has the wrong t=date or something.

You should have a sensor somewhere near the back wheel, probably attached to a chain stay, with a wire running up to the display. On one spoke, there should be a little magnet attached. It's about 3/4" long and maybe 1/2" or so wide. This magnet must be aimed at the sensor, so that the sensor reads the magnetic pulse with each rotation. The magnet probably has a magnetic end and a non-magnetic end. Be sure the magnet aims toward the sensor. (They shouldn't touch, but should be near each other). You may have to loosen it a bit to achieve this.

PS: Possibly this magnet and sensor could be on the front wheel, if you don't find it at the back.
