I will start a thread on weight.
I looked up my friend's bike on Public Bikes' website. They say it is 30-lbs. So you are correct. After conversion it would be about 40 pounds. But like with a sail boat's weight it is a matter of what that weight does and where and how it is distributed.

I went to Public Bikes to look up the weight of the V7i. They say it is 30lbs. So yes, about 40 after the conversion of my friend's new bike. I just started a thread on weight. Sometimes adding some weight is good as long as that makes for a better eBike. It is also a mater of where the weight is located and what it does.
