Hello from this old codger with Trek Verve+ needed to be able to get up the double digit gradients around home!
Bike has Bosch Active motor and Purion display which I'm about to replace with a Nyon.

Welcome to the site.
Glad your purchase is helping you get over the difficult parts. My granny gear is so slow on 15% unpowered I'm at risk of falling over.

Why do you want to replace the display with the Nyon. What features of the Nyon do you yearn?

I'm a bit of a data geek and want to be able to know how much power my legs are contributing. The Bosch system is measuring this but the numbers can only be accessed via the Nyon (as far as I know). In addition I decided that gps navigation would also be useful to me. The Nyon meets both of these requirements.

I have fitted the Nyon and have road tested it and am very happy with its performance. I would like to be able to customise the information screens more than is made available by Bosch's programming but this isn't a major issue for me. Another feature of the Nyon is that there are four additional, customisable levels of motor assistance available which I haven't made use of yet but which appear to provide assistance levels in between those of the standard setup. The highest level provides 270% assistance compared to the standard 250%.

One other feature that appeals to me is that the Nyon is easily removable when the bike is parked which prevents anyone operating the motor and may act as somewhat of a deterrent to would-be thieves.

Thanks for the reply. Overall I am VERY dissapointed with the navigation feature of the Nyon. It keeps trying to take me down paths/tracks that just don't exist or are unsuitable for bike travel. It does not accept postcodes. When I punch in a route, I always select fast (as opposed to eMTB or Scenic. The other features of the unit seem fine. However, I bought my Nyon fundamentally for the navigation feature.

I haven't used the sat nav much as yet but I can understand your disappointment. I tend to use sat nav in general (in car and formerly on motor bike) by inputting a route that I've planned on the PC so that I know that the route goes where I want. The sat nav then simply tells me when turns are coming up etc.

I can see that for those who want to just enter a destination and have the sat nav determine a route the Nyon perhaps is not so useful. In my experience this is true of most sat navs but I guess that given that the Nyon is dedicated to a bicycle it ought to perform better in terms of selecting suitable routes.

Indeed it should be better. I also tried preparing routes in advance and downloading them. So far, no success. However, if anyone else has better experience of the Nyon route planning, I'd love to hear and learn.
