Hello from the Garden State, Southern New Jersey!

Looong time reader and "lurker" to this excellent forum. The fair and objective reviews by Court and friends had a real direct bearing on me getting interested and finally involved directly in ebiking when I took ownership of a model year 2016 Haibike Full FatSix. There is not a day that goes by that I don't check this site for the latest review by Court & friends; nor down here, where I have learned much about the great and vast world of ebikes throughout the world today.

I have no problems whatsoever of using this fat ebike anywhere, except for fording any kind of water. Asphalt, sugar sand NJ Pine Barrens roads, old Canal Towpaths along the Delaware or Lehigh River system.

I look forward to posting up a few ride reports or upgrades to the FatSix as time goes on. Thanks for having me! :)

Mike

I'm glad you've enjoyed the forum, and we're glad to have you here!

Amy, thank you very much! I cannot stress how much Court's website, his honest and candid ebike reviews and this wonderful collection of ebikers in the forums here hooked me early on. His review of the two fat tired Haibikes (FatSix and Full FatSix) along with his review of the Felt Outfitter were really key and instrumental in why I ended up with my own Full FatSix.

But what is really nice is being among a large group of like minded e-bikers who are welcoming and helpful to others. I like that!

Hey Mike! Welcome to the forum!

I'm a former Jersey boy myself but moved up to northeastern Pennsylvania 40 years ago. I still get down there to ride the D&R and D&L Canal Trails from time to time.

Good to have you aboard!

Thanks, Rick!

The folks at the D&L are doing some great work on the northern reaches of the D&L system. There is a brand new connector bridge crossing of the Lehigh River that was dedicated this summer. Hopefully soon, work on the east side will start so this area can be called fully-accessible. Link: http://delawareandlehigh.org/blog/mansion-house-bridge-first-crossing-dedication/

And of course, the D&L has the run from Glen Onoko to White Haven, PA to peddle on. Link: http://delawareandlehigh.org/map/trail-head/white-haven-trailhead-black-diamond/ Looks like they are getting a trail readied from White Haven to Wilkes Barre. Some wonderful biking opportunities in your stretch of PA!

It's quite a coincidence but my wife and I rode that stretch of the D&L today! We did the 26 mile stretch from Glen Onoko to Rockport and back. I've seen that new bridge in Jim Thorpe but it isn't open yet. They are still working on the connector trail on the east side of the Lehigh River.

That stretch from White Haven to Wilkes Barre is open as far as Glen Summit. I've ridden it several times. The locals call it the Black Diamond trail which will become part of the D&L system when complete.

If you use a Garmin GPS that reads .GPX files on your rides, check out the detailed trail files I've created:
