My wife and I bought matching e-bikes a two months ago, with only the vaguest memories of riding bikes 60 years ago. Our birth years are 1945 and '46. When we were old enough to drive a car, we drove cars. We live across the street from both Fort Ord and Toro Park both of which offer fantastic riding paths and fire roads, which we use. The last bike I rode as a kid was a three speed. The last one Holly rode was a balloon tire bike with Bendix brakes. Needless to say, we have had to learn the gears and hydraulic disk brakes plus the ins and outs of e-bikes in general. What a great experience. Our bikes are 2017 Haibike XDURO Fat 6.0s and we love 'em. I ride every day and Holly rides three days per week. Greetings!

My wife Bonnie and I have enjoyed ebiking together so much. If anything, she's even more excited about them than I am! Glad you and your better half are getting the same joy.

Welcome and congratulations on the bikes! My wife and I often stay @ Marina Dunes RV park and ride from there, through Fort Ord, to Monterey for lunch. The 22 mile RT is a blast with its subtle elevation changes and we are looking forward to doing it on e-bike one day soon!. We are doing our research and test driving e-bikes. I expect we will pull the trigger in the next 30 days!
