Welcome the the site.
Glad you are happy with your purchase.
With 11 speeds and a mid drive, be sure to measure your chain stretch every couple of months. Park sells a popular tool.

Welcome Joe!

That’s a great bike!

Tell me about the SpeedBox2... Did you get it locally or direct from Europe? Who installed it? Have you had it long?

I was going to get one but then had an argument with the company about the VAT. They insisted on charging it even though they would be shipping it outside of the EU. I’ve bought a lot of stuff from Europe and have never been charged the VAT. Then they suggested I buy from their Canadian source in BC (I’m in Canada). I contacted them and they replied that they no longer sell them because of too many problems.

So, for now I’m riding my Explore E+1 GTS stock.

Thanks Guys for the welcome! Yeah, the box came from England. Bought it on Ebay from seller: ebikesuk Super fast shipping to the states (took like 7 days)
There were 2 separate charges totaling $216.00

And yes, it works straightaway! Just toggle the walk button & the 20mph limit is removed. I find it helpful on some sections that i ride, in the flats, where 20mph is hit & that dead zone is reached. You may find that you need more gearing if you wanted to peddle beyond 30mph as i run out of gear =). Been on the bike since new 8/21/2019 (approx 140 miles on the bike)

Thanks for the chain advice. I just bought a couple of master links & have been watching my shifting under load. Will do on the chain stretch tool!

Thanks for the info about the SpeedBox2 and the supplier. Do you remember if the SpeedBox2 actually said (printed on it) "For Giant 2019"? (I think it was the model SB2G_2019_1.) When I was communicating with the SpeedBox folks, they gave me a link to a model they said specifically would work with the RideControl EVO and a 2019 Giant bike and it wasn't easily findable on their site without the link. I've looked at the supplier you mentioned and don't see the model they'd recommended. Just the "regular" Giant one. On the Speedbox site I now see a newer one... Speedbox Platinum for Giant (2017-2019). It's 70 Euros more expensive and the only difference I could see was that it's smaller. I don't know if the workings of it are any different.

Which RideControl model does your bike have?

Yes, the chip had SpeedBox 2.0 printed on it. Its for a 2019 Giant E Bike w/the Yamaha Sync Drive motor. Im using the stock Giant controller with the indicator lights only (most basic controller)

Heres the link to the actual box https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-...hash=item1cd196040d:m:mTUe0jijD0LFs8OlMx2fOYQ
