Haibike Urban Plus / M25 controller swap

I have/am getting (long story not relevant here) a new to e Haibike Urban Plus in the next week or so. It has the Cobi.BIKE system. The issue is Haibike seems to have tried to disappear the bike off the website which is giving me pause.

I love the setup and how it rides, but my question is this. Without MAJOR surgery, can I use a different controller with the TranzX M25 and the Cobi.BIKE system on the bike?

I was thinking something like the Grin phaserunner or baserunner. Thanks in advance

I don’t think you’ll have an easy time doing that. You could probably run an external controller, but it won’t be easy to integrate it with COBI. I wouldn’t recommend it

Chris, the Urban Plus is an external controller that is in the downtube. The controller was originally thought to be the issue but it was the Cobi.bike control unit. Apparently those things have more problems than a Jaguar with Lucas electrics.

The best part, Cobi.bike sent me an email saying they don't support the Tranzx setup.

DO NOT BUY A HAIBIKE URBAN PLUS. IT HAS ZERO SUPPORT FROM TRANZX OR COBI.BIKE!
