I'm new to the forum and to electric bikes. I was one of the last in my group of friends to buy an electric. My main ride for the last 4 years was a Specialized Sirrus X Carbon. What a great bike and loads of fun to ride. I averaged about 2500 miles a year over the past 4 years and that bike is good for 4 more years. Unfortunately, I was being left behind by the group I ride with and at 70 years old it was harder to catch up. Palm Springs is a great area to ride a bike and we usually ride 25 to 30 miles, 3 times a week. I feel sorry for my old friends in upstate NY where I used to live. We can ride here all winter long. Our winter is actually summer where temps can exceed 120 degrees. My wife and I hop in our RV and head out for the summer. The last 4 years we have been work campers in some very nice areas in the west. My new ride is a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0. I got the bike in Carlsbad California at a very good price, about $1300 off retail. I fell in love with the bike on the first ride with my group. What smooth ride with a great even power band. I feel like I'm getting a good work-out and enjoying the ride more than ever. I keep it at 0 and "Eco" most of the ride and move up to "Sport" when needed. I moved up to "Turbo" on my last ride when I had to catch a light and couldn't believe how much power I had at my feet. I have many questions about my new bike and will being asking members here for help. So far everyone has been helpful and friendly.
