Hi,
I am 65 years old, have been searching the forum to help make decision for my first ebike. Had briefly test drove the Surface 604 Rook a month ago but changed my mind to go for a mid-drive ebike after you guys' comments and reviews. I have a Giant road bike before and because of the outbreak of the pandemic disease, there is very limited ebike in stock here in Toronto. I prefer Giant and have been aiming at the 2021 Giant explorer E+. However none of the dealer in Toronto could give me an answer when the new bikes will be coming. Eventually I found a 2021 Rome E+ STA is about 40Km away from me and a probably the last one of 2020 Amiti E+ 130Km away. The bike is mainly for recreational riding and touring. I prefer a step through ebike, the Rome E+ looks great but with a smaller battery and not the sport motor. I will need lights, rack and fenders on my bike so I decided to go for the Amiti E+. The Amiti E+ is more than I expected when I first saw her. It is beautiful, sturdy built, the size is appearer bigger than in the photo and the color is also a bit different than in the Giant website. There was 2-3cm snow in Toronto last night but I couldn't wait and had the first ride this morning. It was really a fantastic moment and enjoyable, I felt liked I was riding on my Giant road bike 40 years ago. I like the most is I can decide to put how much exercise and effort to my need on the bike. I am not heavy, 145lb and had learned from you guys the rule of low assist on low gear and high assist on high gear. The ebike was quiet, acclerating smoothly and has lot of power. Will add some accessories such as bike lock or back bag then looking for the weather getting warmer.
The ebike I got is quite far away from me, can I go to a closer Giant dealers for maintance and also being covered of the 2 year warranty?
Thanks

Welcome to the world of ebiking. I think you chose well and will really enjoy your Amiti. I’m sure your local Giant bike store would be more than happy to have your business. Safe travels. 🚴

Welcome to EBR enjoy your stay.
I'm pretty sure any local dealer should be able to help you out with anything your bike needs.
Nice ride. See you on the trails.

Welcome to the world of ebikes from Mississauga. Toronto has a lot of dealers so finding one that gives you good service should not be a problem.

Thanks Cyklefan,
3 weeks ago my ebike was not able to fire up. Everytime I press the on button, the screen lighted up then turn off. Dropped off at dealer and got it back 2 days ago reported that it was the display issue. No bike for 3 weeks. Looking forward to the good weather in Summer.
