got my RadRover

Did you get a chance to get your rover on road and trails yet? It only took me less than a week to get my first flat. Stans tire sealant and Mr. Tuffy liners were my next purchase and the combo does a pretty good job most of the time.

I've tried different PSI levels with the Kenda tires from 12-20 PSI for trial riding and 15-22 PSI when I worked commute. I ended up just keeping them around 19-21 because that gave me the ability to work commute a higher speeds and still take trail detours along the way. I always put 1-2 extra PSI in the rear tires because my weight+rear rack+topeak rack bag.

Replace those Kendas with some "good" tires and get a better ride, quieter ride, more puncture resistance and probably a wee bit more juice left in the battery

The issues I had with the Kenda were:
- rear tire lasted under 1000 miles because of paved road riding
- noisy, sounded like a swarm of killer bees on paved roads
- a little squirrelly on corners at high speeds because of lack of traction with the spaced out knobbies
- very thin tire between the very spaced out knobbies and flats were weekly for my area
- have high rolling resistance; I had slower acceleration, took more effort to pedal, and lower top speed with the Kenda (effected battery range)

There are some Pros like:
- very inexpensive to replace
- can run them at very low PSI (8-15) for sand or very high for higher speeds (20-25 PSI)
- because of the stiff sidewall, don't need tire tools to remove/put on and can use a hand air pump to air up if replacing the tube
- I didn't feel centrifugal pulling to one side from the front tires at low PSI (my Vee8 pulled to one side pretty bad at low PSI)

They don't make the Vee8 tires anymore. A lot folks love the Orgin8 Supercells or Maxxis Hookworms as replacement tires. Those tires are urban tires with light duty on hardpacked trails. I haven't looked into a replacement for my Vee8 that split the difference as well as this tire did for high speed work commute and single-track riding.
