I saw a couple of XPs that had some type of different on-off/PAS control that was removable - it has the name ROAM (and the A is a mountain logo) anyone know what this is?

Hi there, and welcome!
We have two XPremiums since March, now heavily modified. They've worked more or less flawlessly, but have their warts (everything is a compromise, y'know)
Mods: Lots of electrical, such as locking throttle w/voltmeter, turn signals, LOUD horns, a real DOT headlight with highbeam, phone dock/charger, multiple usb ports fore and aft, and tons of LED lights (like over 1000, I kid you not). All electrical is tapped into the main battery pair using a 48v to 12v converter.
Warts: Frame 'wobble', foldies have an inherent frame instability due to the nature of the folding mechanism, you'll learn to compensate for that. Motor is under-powered, even with being a mid-drive, it has issues with the steep hills here in PDX, likely not an issue at all where you are. I'm 6'6", and the geometry is funky for me, but no real fixing that with a cheap-ish bike. Dual battery gets about 30mi or so in real-world hilly riding.
