Just want to update the forum on my GoCycle G4. I have owned it for 3 years now and it has served me well around town and particularly on our tugboat cruises to the North Channel of Lake Huron. It is a pleasure to ride. However, financial struggles for the owners have led to low inventories and a noticeable drop in customer support. They have now been bought by Aventon who are planning release of revised models in 2026.
Some of the issues I have had: 1. The app is not as good as previous versions. Very hard to connect and very basic, and the bike is compromised without it. 2. I had a battery failure over The winter and the dealer tried to be helpful, but there didn’t appear to be a replacement in Canada. I eventually found a local company who could rebuild it with new Panasonic cells at 1/3 of the cost, and it seems to be working well. 3. The model lineup is a bit up in the air at the moment, with only some remaining models available.
I hope they get back on track.
