Fixed CCS lost key by cutting retention mechanism & replacing?

I lost a key for a Juiced CrossCurrent S standard battery and I need to replace the battery. Normally, the bike is stored in my garage so I don't remove the battery & have misplaced the keys.

Based on the other CCS I have (which has a larger battery), it looks like I could cut the plastic housing of the retention mechanism and then back out the screws and swap in a new retention mechanism.

When I contacted Juiced, they pointed me to this mechanism for $49 - https://www.juicedbikes.com/product...1&_sid=21c818bb4&_ss=r?variant=36952274206784

There's also the Dorado variant for $24 - https://www.biktrix.ca/products/dorado-battery-lock-and-key

The alternative is to take it to a lock smith and try to get them to cut a key to fit the lock but I suspect that will be less successful and cost more.

Has anyone ever cut away an existing lock mechanism and replace them with either of these locks / retention mechanisms?

I too lost my key. How did you get you battery off! CS was useless.
