Faraday Porteur Handlebar?

Faraday made a lot of their own stuff. I believe the handlebars and a dozen other parts were proprietary. If I didn’t live in hill country , I would love My Porteur More. Dang shame about their fate.

You were really lucky you did not purchase the Faraday... many local owners are very unhappy with ongoing electrical issues.
There is no support for the bikes now and even our local bike shop has stopped all repairs due to the lack of warranty support.
The Faraday was a good looking bike with a small 250 Wh battery and weak motor... you dodged a bullet on the Porteur.
If you are interested in similar handlebars, take a look at Amazon for touring bars with a high rise and sweep angle.

I feel very lucky that both of my Faradys “his and hers” have been Flawless for 2 yrs. Obviosly underpowered in today’s market but they still are one of the best looking bikes on the road .. like I said dang shame that Pon bought em out just to close it down. My next project will be to retrofit once they crap out. Don't mean to derail this thread but it's really nice to talk to other Faraday owners. I sometimes feel that my wife and I were the only ones to ever buy Faradays. Our experience has been largely trouble free, though the controller on my Porteur S needs to be replaced (yes, Ingrid is indeed the contact for all parts and warranty service - she's nothing short of awesome - super responsive and extremely helpful).
That said, it really stung to drop all that cash in 2018 (5K for the two of them), just to find out that they were being discontinued in 2019 and selling for 60% (or less if you count the free front basket throw in) of their original cost. Cost of being an early adopter, of course, but still smarts a bit!
Bluzrif - I too feel like I'm going to be doing my best to keep the bike going as long as possible with my own repairs/upgrades where possible. What I don't have a good sense of is which parts are proprietary and which parts can be replaced with off the shelf parts. With the battery I'm guessing we're stuck rebuilding it through a third party or ponying up quite a bit of cash ($600 at last check) to get one through Faraday (oof). Controller is the same, I would guess, that's proprietary as well. Just about everything else I think we'd likely be able to find off the shelf parts.
I was however, wondering about upgrading the hub motor. Could that be done without swapping the controller? Any ideas? Grateful for feedback.

Not that’ll make it any better, but I’ve got nearly 8k in 2 belt drive models. I’ve come to grips that I’ve been hosed pretty good. Don’t know that I can answer much, but I have contacted two major battery rebuilders and both say that the battery has a proprietary chip that disallows rebuilding without the software. Pon apparently is intent on keeping it close to the vest. Since that is the key ..everything else is a gamble in terms of upgrades. My hope is someone figures it out and makes a cottage industry of Keeping these alive.
