Ecotric Dolphin brake upgrade/motor cutoff

Original 4 yr old manual brakes adjusted & worn out to the point of being non-functional (yes I rode it that way for awhile). Purchased/installed pre-bled hydraulic Shimano MT-201 lever/caliper(s). Brake fitment is good, I was expecting the motor/brake cutoff to be magnetic (bought some universals) but is a 2 wire momentary/latch type.

Current plan
  • Send back magnetic switches
  • Find a small enough momentary/latch to take OE equip place
  • Override switches for the time being
Any ideas/experience on the forums adding switches to Shimano brakes? From what I'm looking at don't think I can retrofit original sensors to the new brakes and there's not a lot of room without causing interference. Added pics for reference

I've added switches to the MT200. Basic kit is a round magnet with a hole in it, and a plastic switch box with a normally closed switch. When a magnet is brought close, it opens.

I mounted the magnet on the aluminum lever with epoxy. The switch box uses double sided foam tape, but I added extra epoxy. I put the switch and magnet on the edge of the lever. On other brake levers, they git better on the side. Looks dorky, but no one sees it.

Ahh, think you answered a question I didn't know I had. Those prob aren't the exact brand but def the same type kits I have in the mail.

Was under the impression they sent a magnetic control signal but if what you're saying is correct they mimic what was originally there (physical switch). That's awesome, just need to splice and I'm set -- many thanks harryS
