eBike Robberies and security Problems

Came across this bike storage on a residential street near Bristol (UK) - seems like a reasonable idea if only to provide weather protection for those bikes that cannot be stored inside garages/houses.

My thoughts..

1. Its not great for security, especially if it relies on other users locking it after adding/removing their bike - I suspect its got nothing more than a normal garage door key lock
2. the bike logo on the end gives the game away, although any serial bike thief would know about such storage cabins
3. it provides weather protection
4. i presume there are internal rack for chaining/locking the bike too

At the end of the day if a thief wants it bad enough they'll find a way - you'd be surprised how little the public take notice of someone using a cordless angle grinder on a bike rack / lock; even less if they have a hi-vis vest on with some maintenance company name on it

Outdoor Bike lockers seem to be common at a number of work locations in California.
