Not 100% sure what is this but the comments say that it was indeed an attempted theft(the owner was nearby).
I knew that they are walking around in Nyc with the grinder , now really no locks are safe....
Not sure how to protect and lock the ebike from now on.
I have Abus Xtreme Moto 59 amd Abus Bordo 6500 . Both are useless for something like that...

Interesting concept... not really portable, but you could leave the lock at your office bike rack.

It’s about 2x heavier then an Abus moto xtrme 59 310mm(3kg).

The ebike will definetly carry it , not me .
- or + 15lb is no biggie. Is pretty much the only real anti grinder lock on the market. There are also some heavy chains on the market but they weight 20+lb.

A heavy chain is harder to carry (it bounces around and takes too much space) then a heavy U lock.
