Do I have Speedbox fitted?

Hi can you help?
I have purchased a second hand 2020 Decathlon Stylus with a Bosch gen4 CX performance motor. It’s a UK spec and has a 25kph sticker on the frame. It has the Purion display. It’s a great bike with many upgrades by a previous owner.

When I push and hold the - button on the display it displays the maximum assist speed. I can then increase the speed from 15.5 mph to over 20 mph using the + button. The - button then reduces the speed. The assistance speed then stays set at the speed I have selected and cuts out at this set speed.

Is this normal, or has the motor been fitted with a speed box of some type? (Unfortunately I can’t easily remove the side cover on the motor to look behind because the rear bolts of the bash plate are obstructed by the swing arm and I can’t get the side cover off with the bash plate in place - bad design. Also I can’t contact the previous owner who did the upgrades.)

Thanks in advance.

The OEM Purion has no assist speed setting. There's some kind of delimiter installed. Unless the drive unit was replaced recently, you're out of warranty anyway, so have fun.
