... did the forum go down for several hours? A note from the powers that be would be nice here on the forum.

I, too, could not access the forum for most of the day. I changed to my phone's hot spot and I'm back, for better or worse...🤣

I was able to go to most of my usual sites but this one has been down for the last 7 or 8 hrs...

Yeah it was definitely just this site. Although I did notice that a certain link at a certain ebike company also went down for the same duration.

Clearly some hosting services are having issues. Likely Google or Amazon Web Services (AWS), but not necessarily. It's not uncommon, and if the same thing was happening to retail sites I'm sure some type of service interruption announcement would have been made. For discussion forums about e-bikes, not normally going to happen. Could investigate as to where they host these forums but not really worth the effort, and don't have the tools on my tablet. And retired... ;)

Having just gotten over a 10 day power outage and a 17 day wi-fI outage day, you’re lucky it was less than a day.😉

Derecho territory in the Midwest. 100 mph winds for about 15 minutes. Huge tree damage in almost every neighborhood

over a large area took out tons of power lines/poles. Think short midwestern hurricane!😳 No Generac but a big generator that ran almost 24 hrs a day during the outage.

I always perk up when the weather geeks through a completely new word into our vocabulary and act like 'don't look at me'. What has it been, like three years ago they started naming winter storms like hurricanes? Sheesh!

A derecho is a very specific kind of straight line wind storm which I’d never heard of until a day or two after I was in one.

Won’t forget the term derecho ever since the massively destructive Mid Atlantic one that came thru DC in 2012! The National Cathedral where I volunteer as a facility tour guide was not even a year into assessing, and was still stabilizing, the 2011 earthquake’s $35M damages; the fast and fierce derecho inflicted yet more damage onto the building, knocking more limestone off.

Back to the Internet outage for the forums, a number of Giant owners couldn't access the Ridecontrol servers for about a week in the last couple of weeks as well. I also couldn't access the servers for my garage door controller from Chamberlain.

Clearly some sort of network issues, servers or not.
