Intro in English; Hello Mrs: I would like to remove the battery included in the frame of the bike to replace it; remove the 3 screws that secure it, but do I have to dismantle the pedal board and its housing to take it out? Thanks in advance for your response . Orbéa carbon gain bike of 20.
Reply: Yes the plate below the pedals must be removed as well as the power switch on the top tube.
My personal problem with these bikes is that one can put it in the lowest gear, barley pedal, with no effort, and they will go full speed with no feel.
I like to feel like I am riding a bike, like playing a guitar, even when it has some amplification of my efforts. It still feels and rides like a bike intuitively.
I like to be actively engaged and not detached.
Also the battery is proprietary, internal, and overly priced, in my opinion. All the best.
Tous mes vœux. These are bikes more for Mammals that is (middle aged men in lycra,) strutting their packed stuff more than for transportation, it is just an adult toy, not about getting cars off the roads and sustainability, or local transportation goals. Vacuous, frivolous stuff for the vain and inane who do not know better. Some people do not belong in Lycra.
