Is it dangerous and is it illegal in your biking locales, to bike with a mounted camera on your helmet?
Nope. Everybody that buys one of those stupid go-pros thinks they're the new hollyweird movie mogul. Like anybody wants to see all their uncut footage, right????
The narcissism runs deep...and 'selfie-stick's? Dear lord.
They could also be used against you, whether misbehaving, your fault accident or an injury caused to a pedestrian/other cyclists from the camera itself. If you must use one then mount on the handlebarts along with other accessories so it's less likely to be a specific cause of injuryOr they can be used as inexpensive insurance should anything happen.

Arguably, a plane could hit it and injure everyone.
Really boring footage is a great background for ads ...So which social media platform will make the most $ out of the helmet cam footage?

You want me to change it?
I don't have a go-pro.
Although I spent WAY too much time in a suit and tie, I've never worn a tux or bow tie in my life. My avatar is a historical artifact dating to the times before Google and Facebook existed, too late to change it now.
So if the camera is illegal, than the footage shot with one of some bozo causing a wreck is inadmissible in court? All jokes aside, in Australia it's illegal to put a helmet cam on a motorbike lid but plenty of people do and the only time I've known police to care is when someone is stupid enough to leave their lid on and try to record a conversation with the police.
I'm not sure about the legality on bicycles , but my bell 3r came with a gopro mount ( which I removed immediately ) .
If you really must put a lever on your lid, please make sure it's mounted in a way that it breaks off in the event of impact and there are no leads wrapped around your neck. More importantly, please don't ride around with one of those drones following you taking video - they sound like a shimano with faulty bearings
Love it!I've found that when I'm wearing a helmet camera motorists are noticeably more respectful to me. It is worth it just for that.
And there is no way you'd ever get a picture like this without a helmet camera:
