Cyliq Fly6 ce review

this is for safety and mainly to record if anyone hits me- at least hopefully..

did a lot of research before buying it and most of the complaints were about water intrusion problems- being in AZ where it seems to never rain anymore and i dont ride in the rain-figured this would be fine for me

from the beginning the device has done something different every time you hit the power button, like it is defective

originally bought an sd card at best buy but not one cycliq recommends- none of those were available there

so ordered a card on the compatible list from amazon thinking this must be the problem

still no dice

i have every tech gadget and this has by far been the most time consuming and worst thing i have ever bought

in the process of trying to get it sent back to the company for repair/replacement

will update this after i get it back

company is sending a new one, will update how it works etc
hopefully it will be great

the company has been good to work with, responds to emails quickly etc

Very curious about the final outcome...

I got the
Blueskysea DV688 Motorcycle Dash Cam last summer and it works very well for me, build a power bank with 4-18650 batteries that gives me 10 hours of run time.

Very cool

I am running a garmin session 5 on the front of the bike more to catch cool things while I am riding than safety

debated doing a second one for the rear but opted for the cycliq...

will definitely update this once I get a working one

the company is in Australia so not sure how long it will be to get here

Did consider the fly at first after getting tired of the $30 ish camera options from Amazon since it was a pita to replace them couple times a year, ultimately opted for the dv688 to have a clear view what is behind me, yes I do have a mirror but around here you really need a second pair of eye's behind you, ignorant and incredibly difficult drivers....

Thanks for the review. I'm also a tech head and I've always had a camera mounted on whatever vehicle I'm commuting in. I look at it as relatively inexpensive insurance. Presently, I have a DJI Osmo Action and I love the amazing stabilization on it. It's also really nice that my Yamaha has a USB port that can power the camera. I just hit the record button and it records my ride without any fuss. The only thing that it's missing is a true loop function that would erase the oldest footage just like my car DVRs. I have a 256GB SD card in it so I really only have to remember to erase older footage every few days of commuting.

On my rear rack, I have my older Sony action camera with okay stabilization. I have to remember to charge it after every use as I have not run the wiring to the rear end.

I had a similar setup on a previous bike using a small 5000mah battery and a blueskysea B1W that I replaced from our SUV. It was always reliable. It was NOT weatherproof but it did fine with a season of very dense fog and sprinkles.
