Cut through grip end on 2019 La Free?

I need a mirror for my La Free, and would really like the kind that plug into the "end cap" of the handlebar.

Has anyone cut through the end of theirs to put a mirror in?

Any other ideas for a mirror for this bike? The paddle-type hand grips are stumping me 🤪!

Show us pics of the grips/bar end.
Some grips are secured with allen keys, and the bar end plugs are just tapped in/pressure fits that can be pulled off/out.

A bike shop guy once suggested using a hammer as sort of a reverse cookie cutter to cut the ends of the grips out for a mirror. Just tap, tap, tap, the end of the grips until the ends of the bars cur through the grips. I wasn't interested enough to do it, but I'm sure it would work. Maybe depending on your grips. And as Dave says, some grips wouldn't require that method.

I use a cheap bar-end mirror that just attaches easily with Velcro. $10 at Walmart. Not fancy but it does what it needs to do. I like that I can easily remove it whenever the need arises.

Ergon grips have bar-end plugs. No need to cut or drill the grip to install a Mirrycle.

A mirror that attaches to your glasses or helmet is an option. Less vibration distortion. Road behind is easily checked with minimal turning of head. I’ve used mine on extensive tours across Canada and the US. Saved my bacon more than once. I won’t leave home without it.

I replaced my stock grips with locking grips and they are made for adding mirrors. I love them.
Thanks, Tara!

I got my mirror on, no problem, but am interested in the grips you have ... Brand or link please 😁?

They don't say a brand unfortunately. I had my dealer put them on and so I didn't actually select them myself.

I also should mention the stock grips are terrible IMO... they slide all over. It's worth it to purchase new ones. Make sure to see a dealer because the size does matter due to the shifter. 😉
