I just watched a YouTube titled History of Electric Bike Review where Court the founder of this forum was being interviewed.
very informative and great introduction of him.
He was instrumental in my decision to buy a Specialized Vado 5 as I watched his review before trying the bike.
Now I feel like I know him better.
very likable, honest, and humble guy.

I must admit I also watched Court's Vado videos prior to the bike purchase. It was the first time I learned Vado 5 was a speed-bike. (I didn't know that S-Pedelecs existed before watching that video ). Since my other e-bike was in the repair for some 4 weeks, I found I had to buy the Vado and I bought it fast. Because of some initial issues I met, I found the EBR forum. So it was Court videos first, the e-bike purchase next, and finally I joined the Forums.

The order was the same for me. Court Review, test ride, purchase, and join the forum. Except there was one more step where I had to sell my one month old ebike that I had purchased for over $2k with buyer remorse.

I even could not test-ride. Poland is still somewhat under-developed market. Few people can afford good e-bikes and a dealer cannot keep expensive e-bikes in stock. So I had to pre-pay perhaps 40% before the Vado was delivered from the Netherlands to the dealer. Mind you, my discounted Vado cost twice what I paid for a used Renault Megane here.

I think there are so many of us here that found our e-bikes with the guidance of Court. When I was looking, he corresponded with me personally. I felt lucky that there was someone that could provide such objective information on so many bikes and get the really important information to base purchases on. Thank you.
