Convert Santa Cruz Tallboy?

Court, found your video with Jason at EBO and Patrick at HI-C and have been spending some time here, great resource. I'm retired, work at REI and am planning to build an ebike as soon as I figure out a bike to use. I have a 2012 Santa Cruz Tallboy 29er that I would like to re-purpose but I'm struggling with battery options and location. The bottom bracket (73mm) and chainstays look good but the rear shock eats up a lot of room in the triangle. Only have 68mm between the shock rebound knob and the downtube. I've not seen anything long and low profile enough and I only have 40mm under the downtube with full fork compression. Maybe two smaller batteries like wolf pups? I'd like to commute and be on trails, not too aggressive, just enough power to supplement 73 year old knees and keep up with the fifty year old youngsters. Your thoughts on trying to make this bike work or find a more suitable frame geometry. I wrote a 200mm scale on the top tube.

Hi mmoran68,

I have the same problem. Did you find a battery that fits in this bicycle? If you can share I would appreciate it. Thanks!
