Como or Vado?

I'm looking into buying my first ebike. My wife recently bought a Specialized Como and swears by it. But what are the differences between the Como and the Vado? Many thanks.

Hi Bob,

Let me start as the majority of Como and Vado owners on the Forums ride North American versions of these e-bikes while you're in France (I'm in Europe and ride a Vado).

1. Only Vado 6.0 is an S-Pedelec (45 km/h assistance limit) in Europe. All other models and versions are 25 km/h e-bikes.
2. In general, Como allows relaxed riding position while Vado is to be ridden in a forward position.

The riding position is the major difference between Euro Como and Vado. Regarding specifications, these depend on the model version. Interesting thing is both Como and Vado are equipped with a suspension fork in Europe (North American Como has a rigid fork and is very different from the European version).

If you are interested in specific model, I can tell you more. Is it possible for you to do demo rides where you live?

Thanks Stefan. This is really helpful. Our bike shop is good and encourages you to try out their bikes - there's a nice little incline nearby that they recommend for this!
