Hi everybody. This is a place to post photos, experiences and to generally discuss Rolling Coal. There have been complaints one town over of a gray truck slowing down in front of joggers and cyclists, then jumping on the gas to billow large clouds of black smoke. This one putz even has photos of rolling coal on his Instagram account.

Appreciate your posting the license plate as well.

He's near Petaluma, Tomales High School, plays for the Braves.

Hopefully, he'll take it just far enough to get busted, but not far enough to hurt anyone-- or gets his own ass kicked or worse.

It's amazing what a week or two in juvie can do to straighten a kid out who just got started out on the wrong foot.

Holy Crap! I was searching for any new info on the Texas teen when I saw this. I thought it must be a joke but...

WTF?

“Chronicle, the teenaged motorist and his Ford F-250 Super Duty were forced to defend themselves after being hassled by a group of "eight cyclists training for the Ironman Triathlon," which is just a polite way of saying, "eight belligerent psychopaths who hate America."

From the same sewer that brought us the mass shooting up north this weekend.
On the other hand it could be the work of a satirist, though the grievance thing is big now in the land of the free

The WA Free Beacon, if you google it, is called a conservative newspaper. No mention of satire.

Coal rolling is supposed to be hard on engines. I sure hope it is.

Around these parts, besides being fashionable by just having a diesel pickup, it is also the fad to take off the pickup bed and put in a flatbed. To top it off, yesterday I saw this along with the naked lady mudflaps. It don't git much better than that to say what kind of a cowboy you are. Not quite enough to earn a 10 though. The testicle thing hanging on the trailer hitch was missing.

They are certainly doing an excellent job of confirming the bias’ of the knuckledraggers. Conservative in the deep past meant responsibility. Now its an empty ignorant term Wielded in destruction of democracy.

Make Him ride
we should be kind to him as part of his sentence he should ride a bicycle up and down that road once a week for a year. That will help him more than you know.

Meanwhile, I read (in a regular article) about a guy who ran into and killed a woman cyclist getting off scot free. The guy even admitted that he was distracted by his phone at the time. Some lives are not protected or cared about.

Yeah, the "Free" Beacon. The usual swill from the usual swine. Loved the reference to "Big Bicycle" -- I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

We are feared. That's sad, but... it's kind of cool, too. If that's how it's got to be, I could work with that.

It is a total waste of time but this vid on farting dinosaurs is entertaining.

Putting aside any green sensibilities, as a recovering motorhead, it's painful to see such badly tuned engines.

It's just such a waste of horsepower! This is not how we transfer the maximum amount of kinetic energy from the power plant to the wheels and the pavement.

If the goal is to discharge power in a display of abject futility, why not just Flintstone it... skip the motor and have a dozen guys push the truck?

Just for the hell of it, I googled "Big Bicycle" just because it was such a jaw-dropping phrase in the article. I stumbled across this explanation, which I also found very entertaining... a very worthy foray into the world of faux conspiracies, vaguely reminiscent of "Birds Aren't Real" :

"We’re not especially proud of this, but convincing the automotive industry, AAA, oil companies, Tea Party supporters, tabloid newspaper columnists, and run-of-the-mill NIMBYs that a group of people who are disproportionately represented among traffic injury and fatality statistics constitute some sort of all-powerful political force capable of instituting a totalitarian New World Order is a trick we’re not even sure we know how we accomplished. We’re sorry so many people have had to die, but if Washington, DC has .0000001% fewer parking spaces for cars thanks to our efforts, it will all have been worth it..."

"Like all totalitarian regimes, we have no endgame other than the complete and utter transformation of every corner of society into a utopian world of our own creation, if you’ll allow us to brazenly misuse “totalitarian” and “utopian” in the same sentence. And while we’re not sure what your cities and towns will look like, exactly, we do know that citizens will be thinner, healthier, wealthier, and more attractive. I’m sure to most Americans that sounds terrible, but unfortunately it’s just the way it has to be. As a compromise, we will allow each city or town to choose from one of two different new names: Amsterhagen or Copendam.

All-Powerful Bicycle Lobby
@BicycleLobby
An all-powerful enterprise. Leader of the "spoke mob." Satire.

How do a group of cyclists "force" a kid in a pickup truck to defend himself??
Why not just drive away??
How can "rolling coal" be construed as a defensive measure??
I guess I won't be riding my bike in Waller county TX. anytime soon.

where is all that coal going or what will it be used for?
It's probably from the Powder River area in MT/WY via the Columbia River gorge and is on the way up to Delta, BC where it will head off to China on a boat. About 5 trains/day. I happened to catch 2 of them on Sunday.
