That model has pedals, but is reported to develop 20KW of motor power! A mere 27 times more than the Federal limit for a 'bicycle'. He was quoted as saying that you "should read the manual before you ride it".

I'm glad he's going to be OK, but the news feeds were up in arms about needing more regulations for those presumptively dangerous electric bicycles...😖

To the article's credit, they edited out 'ebike' and replaced it with 'emotorcycle'.

This kind of media coverage unfortunately brings out the "ban those dangerous eBikes" crowd who just need a good example like these to spew their venom...and boy, are they ever. Unfortunately the whole truth as to whether he was even driving a legally classified eBike was not mentioned in the media...and like we all suspected, it was really an electronic motorcycle, not an eBike. Nice try eBike haters. Nice try.
