Can you use the Cobi.Bike app for 2 bikes?

I have 2 bikes with Smartphone Hubs. One bike is paired with the Cobi.Bike app and I would like to pair the second smartphone hub but I don't see a way to start that process in the Cobi.Bike app. Any one figured out the solution?

have you put the phone on the other bike than tried? I never knew I could use the nyon on multiple bikes till I tried no real documentation on that.

Yes. The phone needs to pair via Bluetooth to talk to the smartphone hub. There doesn't appear to be a way to start the pairing process for the second hub if there is already one smartphone hub paired.

I can turn on the Bluetooth on the hub but I haven't figure out how to get the app to see it.

try just connecting to it from the bluetooth settings and see what happens. I had to do it that way with my older nyon. I forgot it uses bluetooth and to the cord. I have one sitting on a shelf that was removed when I bought my bike so never connected it to a phone.

Tried... the phone doesn't see the hub.

When you pair the first smartphone hub, there's a screen in the app that prompts you to get started. I don't see an option in the Cobi.Bike app to get started with a second hub.

You did check the documentation that comes with the smartphone hub and cobi.bike? Oh wait, there is none...

IIRC, there's two ways to pair. Through the app and through the phone. I presume you've tried pairing successfully through the phone? And making sure the first bike is not paired? (i.e. stone cold off...maybe at a distance away?) I would not be surprised if Bosch forgot to code the app to allow use with two different bikes, but, if my experience is any guide, you'll never get Bosch to tell you that.

Haha! Documentation...There are now online user guides but I didn't find any info on pairing a second hub.

And yes, I also tried pairing directly with my phone (iPhone 11). Neither device - the hub or phone - would see the other.

I have not tried deleting the first bike and pairing the second as that seems like a waste of time if the app doesn't support 2 bikes.

Has the second bike ever been paired to anything? If so, was it to a different user profile or bosch/cobi account?
If yes, you would need to go into that user account and turn on hub sharing so you can pair your profile to it or reset ownership.

The bike is new so I don't think it would be locked to an existing account. I watched it come out of the box at the bike shop. But, I'm not finding a way to even start the pairing of the second bike with the Cobi.Bike app.

Howdy y'all,

To address a few points here: while there is not much print documentation to accompany the Smartphone Hub (since everything has moved online), here is the link to a great settings section for theCobi.Bike app. This information can be accessed through the settings of the app too. It answers a ton of questions.

@Tadpole, to answer your question, yes there is a way to connect your phone's Cobi.Bike app to multiple Smartphone Hub-equipped eBikes. However, you cannot have two bikes connected to the app at once, toggling between the two.

To pair your Cobi app to a second eBike, you first need to perform a quick disconnection, "Confirm Hub Reset" prior to pairing to the second bike. In my world, I loosely liken this to Apple Carplay that may be found in your vehicle. It's a streaming-based interface, so disconnection of one device is needed prior to pairing to another phone.

@BlackHand's great share of "Hub Sharing" is not applicable here. That feature is intended for two riders sharing the same eBike. Both riders, let's say myself and Tadpole could use our respective Cobi app's to pair to the same Smartphone Hub, toggling between the two.

I hope this info helps.

Cheers y'all!

If you'd like me to share a screen cast of this process, I am more than willing to. Once familiar, switching between two bikes can be done in under one minute.

Thanks! I will try that.
