Can I use non-HIGO brakes?

I have a Biktrix Hub Duo, can I replace the current (broken) emtb brakes with a HIGO connector with just normal non etmb brakes?

So you would not have motor cutoffs in the new brakes? Yes you can. I ride a mid drive emtb without brake cutoffs..
