Bionx Gen/Regen not working

Hi all - I have a Bionx with a G2 console with just over 10K kilometers. There is a handlebar mounted +/- switch for gen/regen choices, that stopped working yesterday but console controls for +/- worked. Then that stopped working an hour later. I was given another G2 console from a friend who crashed his bike. It also does not respond to asking for gen/regen. All other functionality on console works. I checked/cleaned all connectors, no help there. Any ideas? Thank you all.
