Hi All
I was gifted a older Bionx ebike. Bike runs just fine and everything works except the thumb throttle assist button is not working.
The display Bionx G2 shows everything normal. After much troubleshooting, checking all connections etc I was just about to give up
when I decide to try another G2 display unit from another bike. Magic happened and the thumb throttle is working fine now.
The problem is in the G2 display unit although the display shows all normal indications. Has anybody has a problem like this
and is there any way to correct the problem ?

You are very lucky anything works. Bionx went bankrupt 5 years ago due to too many problems. There is a computer in the battery that talks to the controller. If there is any problem in that pair, the bicycle is garbage. I had a controller work fine for 4 years then lose contact with the PAS pickup. New PAS pickup, twice, no luck. Probably was a bad connection between the edge of the controller board and the IC. Scrap.
You could buy an entire hub motor kit with battery, say from ebikeling.com , and replace everything. If you really like the frame that much. Act quickly, prices may double after January 21.

Well the bike still works fine except for the thumb throttle. As long as the pedal assist is working I will use the bike.
The bike was a freebie so I can't complain. When it stops running I will send it to the recycle pile. Thanks for the reply.
