So, we are a family of 4, 1 ebike 3 acoustics. We are desperately trying to figure out how to transport them so that we can go riding. We have a Toyota Sequoia. We were thinking that we could haul them in a utility trailer but for the life of us can't find anything that we think would work. Please help us try to find a way to haul these without spending an arm and a leg. Thank you!

Don't give up on the trailer so quickly - there are plenty of diy options - eg using wooden / metal channels to secure the wheels and then tie down the bars like on a motorbike. I set up a rack to go on the top of my camper tent / trailer using front axle brackets on some angle iron and tie downs for the back ( pita because I needed to remove the front wheels, but it was 4 high ent mtb and we were going 4x4 camping.

For regular trips, I just use a vertical tow hitch rack - super quick to load, with the added bonus it can mount on the car when we're towing a trailer ( using a double hitch) - it's a bit of a juggle r the emtb after a big day of riding, but that's what teenage kids were invented for.

can the vertical rack handle the weight of an ebike? Do you have any pictures of the other things that you mentioned? Thank you! I have an Electra Townie Commute Go, it is a big bike!

Most of the vertical racks are built by down hill mtb riders, so heavy bikes that are being carted along rough roads to get up to the top of a mountain. Mine has carried 2 emtb plus 3 regular mtb's without issue, a mates regularly carries 6 down hill bikes. You might need to talk directly when ordering - I think in the states this would be worth a look http://www.loloracks.com/ ( I'm in australia )

My box trailer has u channels, I have it set up for 4 full sized motorbikes but it's freezing and dark outside so I'll borrow this pic from the net as an explaination . Cheap, easy to remove ( design it to unbolt so you can still use the trailer conventionally)

Sorry, I can't find a pic of the bikes loaded with the through axle set up, but if you look in front of the sad wet trailer you might understand.

And for inspiration....25 ebikes on a trailer
