A couple of months ago I bought myself a Tui+ bike from a LBS here in Auckland New Zealand. I looked around and rode a few bikes in the same price range and suited me best. I've added a basket and swapped the CST tyres to some Schwalbe Big Ben's and it's a lovely bike to ride around the slightly hilly terrain around here.

A couple of months and a few hundred kilometers in and I find myself pushing myself back on the seat. I do it so much so that I feel my rather generous rear end is almost hanging off the back. What do I do here? Is it my riding technique? I only started riding again less than six months ago. Is an an offset seatpost the answer?

Kind of an obvious question but is your seat all the way back on the rails?

I like the upright position that I am already in. I just find myself pushing back on the seat. I will talk to my bike shop about the layback post to see if it will help me.

Big guy here to (6'2"/315) and of the age where I could care less what I look like when riding my bikes. If I'm more comfortable with a larger "overhang" so be it!

I will say that if I find myself having to slide back often, it's because the angle of the seat is wrong. You're sliding forward, so adjust the front of the seat up a hair at a time until that stops....

Thanks for everyone's help here. I went into my LBS and got a gel saddle with more space on the rails to move it back a fraction. They sorted out the fit and also tilted it slightly and now it's absolutely perfect.
