BBS01B motor connections.

Just a got a new BBS01B motor to replace an old original BBS01 and the new motor has more cables going into it than the original.
The 3 obvious ones are the battery,display and speed sensor, but the extras are a small yellow socket with 3 pins , and a smaller 2 pin black cable with 2 small spade lugs .
Anyone know what the extras are for.

I found out what the extra connections are for if anyones interested.
The yellow 3 pin socket is for an optional gear sensor which cuts the motor power when changing gears, and the smaller 2 pin cable is for a headlight.
The headlight turns on when the display backlight is turned on .

The headlight is really wimpy. A lousy 5V.

I guess the power comes from the controllers 5V supply.

Any 5v light can be used. I’m not thrilled by the JST connectors used. I especially dontlike having connectors that aren’t waterproof.

“One of the dumbest additions to the BBSxx series. Worse yet a cheap jst connector. I apologize when Bafang ships them. I suggest my customers stuff itintoa heat shrink tube and fill with silicone just before heating. Eliminatethe dumb thing and the chance of a short. Get a proper headlight. Preferably StVZO”

Thanks, do you know what the power limit is that can be drawn from the headlight connector ?
Ive got a 4 watt light with a Cree led in it that runs off 5V , and its a decent light, so would be good if I can use it.
I guess the problem with the connectors is that there would be so many differant types of lights that could be used, that a common type of connector rather than a proprietary type would be needed.

Ive got a battery that has a 5V 2A USB output, so using a simple relay to switch the headlight will be a simple fix .

Consider a StVzo headlamp and tap off the battery leads.
